Clint Van Beveren

BTC & Mercury Head Coach
TA Performance Coach
I first competed in triathlons in 2000 and joined the Bayside Triathlon Club soon after, when Thursday night aquathlons were a regular feature on the calendar. As an age group athlete, I have represented Australia at world championships at all distances, competing in Hawaii in 2008 and 2010 and winning a sprint distance world championship in 2011. In 2010, I reconnected with Bayside Triathlon Club and together with my team of coaches under Mercury Performance Coaching, provide group and personalised swim, bike, run and triathlon training to Bayside members. Mercury training covers all levels from beginners to elites and aims to maximise performance and enjoyment in the sport.
MERCURY PERFORMANCE COACHING
  • Sean Lynch

    TA Development Coach
After a life time of being involved in all sorts of sports, mainly as a competitor, I took up triathlon in 2007, and set myself some goals, which ended up having myself competing and learning how to push myself in races for over 12 years. During this period I used myself to test the human body and mind, to see what it is capable of doing in training for races from sprint to Ironman races.

The last 15 years of my life I have found a passion for coaching and helping others achieve their goals in life, it started with kids sports which I have coached since 2007, which has lead me to coaching adult athletes from 2014, where I coached athletes in all running distances from 5km to marathon, and triathletes from sprint to Ironman races.

My drive and passion is just not in the happiness in seeing a person achieve a life long goal, but the development of them as a person, and the realisation of what they are capable of, not just in sport, but in life in general, as the skills of planning, time and priority management, and good old fashioned grunt, in learning how to push ourselves beyond what we thought were our limits, gives people the confidence to live life in ways they didn’t think they could.

From a personal point, seeing my athletes race marathons around the world, watching everyday Baysiders race locally to World Champs around the globe, is very rewarding, and gives me the passion to keep coaching.
So if you ever want to catch up and talk life time goals, just call/text me, as always keen for catch up and chat and see what is possible.

    TA Foundation Coach
    Swimming Australia Foundation Coach
I first began triathlons when I was 12 years old and have loved the sport ever since that moment!

Some of my highlights during my time in the sport would be being a part of the Triathlon Victoria Development program, competing as an Elite Junior and Under 23, and going to Age group world championships in 2018.

I had so much fun during my time as an athlete, working with great coaches and making so many friendships. As a coach, I want to help kids reach their goals, get fit and most importantly have fun along the way. I want to be known as a coach that listens to their athletes and puts their health and happiness above everything.

I feel most at home stood on the pool deck helping people to find the love of water and have recently discovered the joy of running with (being towed by) my beautiful pup, Pippa.

Whether you're entering the swimming world for the first time, have had bad experiences, lack confidence or struggling to get faster, you will find a willing supporter and aid with me.

From a serious knee injury playing rugby at 19 to a near death experience and a not so free helicopter ride when involuntarily dismounting my bike on a French mountain years later plus plenty of poor health decisions in between, I'm a huge believer in the restorative effects of sport. My ethos sits firmly in helping you find positive reinforcement of what you can do rather than what you can't.

Have fun, believe and achieve, just don't be afraid to tri!
